What’s the Rush?

So I had intentions of starting my blog at the beginning of the year. I had everything planned out. I even spent my New Year’s Eve aligning everything, ready to go…. so I thought. A lot of times, we try to set deadlines and create these unrealistic timelines in our head instead of just going with the flow and starting something when we are really ready. We try to hurry and beat the clock to release something or do something and don’t really care how it’s packaged. I caught myself doing that and had to slow down and ask myself “What’s the rush?”

When you go to college, you are taught that you have to meet deadlines/timelines and have programmed your mind to move like that in everything you do. I’m not saying that it’s always bad, but I think it’s a time and place. We tell ourselves, “By this age, I need to be _____” or “By this date, I need to have __________” not realizing that we are setting ourselves up to hurry and beat the clock. Instead, let’s just be. Are deadlines/timelines appropriate? Absolutely, but don’t rush to get something executed without being logical or putting much thought behind it.

Let’s get back to the blog. So, I’ve been real ducked off lately because I’ve really been getting my life together. Yes, we should just be, but you have to still make sure you’re being intentional with the life you want to create for your future self. In the process of resetting and realigning I was like, “Dang, I know I’m not the only one struggling with these life decisions and choices.” The reality is we’re all trying to figure it out.

Being 25, they say this is the year that you really put in the work to become whom you want to be. Is it hard? Yes! Do you mess up? Yesssss! But I know the reward in the end is going to be so deserving. You have to go through things in life and create a new mindset in order to learn from your mistakes and past. If you don’t learn from it, the lesson is going to keep happening until you do. My intention is to inspire, educate, and just be me in my blogs.

Download TrueBill. It’s an app that I use to help properly manage when my bills are due. It also helps you cancel all those ridiculous subscriptions that you probably forgot that you even subscribed to. Between your bills, the money you spend to go out, etc. it’s IMPERATIVE that you properly manage your money. I have another gem that I use that helps calculate all your expenses/revenue for the month, but we can touch on that later. Staying organized especially when handling your finances is key!

Nowadays, especially my generation, we do a piss poor job of managing our finances and that’s something we really have to shake. Yes, I’m talking to you… stop going out knowing you don’t have money to spend. We are not in college anymore. I’m even talking to myself; I am a work in progress with my finances.

But yeah, I don’t want to make this too long especially being this is my first blog. I don’t want to bore yall too much and know sometimes we don’t like to read when it gets too wordy so I tried to keep it short, but still meaningful. I’m open to topics as well. I’m kind of just going with the flow right now so feel free to comment and let me know if this blog was a vibe or not. Let’s grow together and become the best version of ourselves. 2022 is the year, for sure!! Let’s go!

XOXO

Brittney (I’ve always wanted to say “XOXO” Lol)
