I know it’s been a minute, but I’m back with the next blog yall. It’s funny because the topic that many of you recommended, is a topic that I still am mastering myself. Lol. Balancing my work and personal life is a struggle, but I can say over time I have gotten better. When I first graduated college, I used to spend all my energy into working, making a name for myself, and just being outside, I ignored the fact that my house wasn’t even up to par.
Since then, I still struggle with it at times because I am a very ambitious person who wants a lot out of life, still likes to have fun, and eventually wants a family too. Lol. I know that sounds crazy, but that’s who I am as a person for real. I believe I can have it all, and know I can- it’s just about being intentional and going after it. A lot of times people think that you can’t have it all, and you can. You can be a lady who has her own bag, a great mother, wife, and turn up from time to time too.
I don’t plan on working all my life, but that’s why I go so hard now so I will always be self-sufficient- with or without a nigga. I also realize that if I want to be the wife I intend to be, I also have to value the importance of being a homemaker. Between facilitating an entertainment label, running my own company, trading, and learning new things every day- it’s like how do I still make time to read, cook, clean, be there for myself and others, and live a little? To be honest, my weekends and my mornings are my best friend. A habit that I practice is getting up earlier in the day typically around 5 am-6 am to start my day while everyone else is still asleep. This allows me to take time for myself and work out, meditate, read, and just gather my thoughts and be there for myself.
My weekends are typically my wind-down/get-lit days. These are the days where I’ll either clean, cook, do a thorough check-in with my family, do some skin care treatments or go to some cute restaurant with one of my homegirls. Lately, I haven’t been going out at all because I’m saving all of my fun energy for my birthday. I don’t see anything wrong with going out and having fun, it’s just that you can’t stay over there too long. If you’re always having fun and never handle your business- who do you expect to take you seriously? We’re not doing that this year!!
Another habit as well to maintain your work/life balance is not allowing your day to fully start until a certain time. As an entrepreneur, the clock doesn’t stop unless you set boundaries for it too. For me, when I leave my house- that’s when I’ll call people back, and really start my day. But while I’m at my house, I appreciate the time I have and will not make myself available like that until I get out.
But yeah, it’s definitely something that I have to continue to practice. If you ask some, they’ll say there is no work/life balance because even when you’re at home tending to your home activities, you’re still applying some type of work. Aside from that though, how have yall been? My birthday is coming up yall and I’m mad hype. I haven’t gone on a trip since last year for my birthday so I’m really excited to live a little. I’m going to do my best to not take a month to write another blog, but your girl just be busssy! I guess that goes with the work/life balance huh? Lol. But let me know what other topics to speak on too. I feel like yall wanna know some real information too so let me know. I will say I’ve been day trading, and thinking about showing yall how to do it. It’s a way to make money every day within two hours max. But- we’ll talk- for those who read this all the way through, I f* with you!!
Bye!
